G&L Price lists 1980-1991

Suggested retail price list January 1, 1982

  1. First 4-page price list.

  2. The G-200 and S-500 are added to the lineup.

  3. Last 3 pages contain accessories and parts: cases (already included on the previous price lists), strings, instrument care products, pickups, picks, Dual-Fulcrum Vibrato units, Locktight bridges, Schaller tuning machines, custom and replacement necks, and unfinished bodies.

Notes: Among the listed pickups, the Magnetic Field Design (MFD) bass and guitar humbuckers make total sense. The availability of single-coil guitar MFD pickups fit the presence of the S-500. But what about these single-coil bass pickups? More than likely, these are the pickups used on the SB-1 and SB-2 models but they were not listed until November 1982. And instead of S-500 pickups, does that make the listed MFD single-coils more akin to those later used on the SC-1 and SC-2?

Notes: As listed, the L-1000 and L-2000E seem to be unavailable with a rosewood fingerboard. However, a separate neck with such a fingerboard can be ordered in fretted (NB 230) and fretless version (NB 230-F). One needed to buy the hardware separately but a set of Schaller bass keys (KS110) would add a mere $57 to the price. And one had to ask for a brand and model decal too.
