The Legacy Bass /LB-100 introduced in late-1992, i.e. in the BBE-era, is the first G&L instrument in general with an Alnico V pickup. In 2001 it was followed by the JB-2 with 2 vintage-style Alnico V Jazz single-coil pickups. The JB-2 had the shape of a Fender Jazz bass but did not have a pickguard or control panel. The more traditional looking JB was released in 2009 with the same pickups as the JB-2. The latter was discontinued in June 2015.
